The Marvel II rims from Elitewheels are purpose-built for recreational riders, crafted to meet their distinct requirements. When compared with conventional alloy road rims, Marvel II rims stand out by offering greater strength, higher rigidity, improved aerodynamics, and noticeable weight savings. Because rims are the single most influential component for aerodynamic performance, reducing rim weight decreases rotational mass, resulting in quicker acceleration and a more responsive ride.

These rims employ Elitewheels’ exclusive UNI carbon technology, a precisely optimized mix of T800 and T700 fibers. This advanced layup produces rims that are not only exceptionally stiff and strong but also remarkably lightweight. Selecting the right spokes is critical in building a high-performance wheelset. After extensive evaluation, we chose Alpina Ultralite Aero spokes. Compared to the Pillar PA 1423 spokes used in earlier versions, each Alpina Ultralite Areo spoke is significantly lighter, dropping from 6.5g to just 4.2g—a reduction of about 2.3g per spoke. PERFORMANCE HUB

To unlock the full performance potential of our carbon wheels, the Marvel II series hubs are designed with high flanges, which contribute to increased lateral stiffness and sharper handling. Each hub incorporates 4 pawls, 36 teeth, and a 10° engagement angle. The system carefully balances engagement speed with load distribution, ensuring smooth and efficient power transfer. Thanks to the combination of a small engagement angle and the rigidity of carbon rims, riders experience highly responsive acceleration.

Elitewheels manufactures its hubs in-house using precision Fanuc CNC machines capable of achieving tolerances as fine as 0.02mm. CERAMIC BEARINGS

The Marvel 38V II is equipped with oversized hybrid ceramic bearings for improved efficiency and durability. The front hub houses two 6803 bearings, while the rear hub includes one 6903 and three 6803 bearings. BRAKE SURFACE

The braking surface of the Marvel 38V II combines Elitewheels’ proprietary 270℃ high-temperature resin with Japanese Toray T800 and T700 carbon fibers. This composite material ensures reliable braking performance even during long, demanding descents.

Additionally, the Marvel 38V II incorporates an advanced 3K 45° twill weave carbon surface. Unlike a traditional unidirectional (UD) layup, this cross-woven design provides balanced resistance to both lateral and longitudinal forces, enhancing braking consistency in challenging conditions. The 45° weave also improves heat dissipation, preventing localized overheating and maintaining braking efficiency under high temperatures. Its interlaced structure further enhances durability, resisting pad abrasion and slowing crack propagation, which extends the lifespan of the braking surface.

Each rim comes pre-fitted with tubeless tape and incorporates our proprietary R-angle design, which simplifies tire installation.
